paeonia japonica

This month’s Paint-a-Flower is a wild bunch of peonies, native to Japan. They are much smaller in size compared to the peonies you might be familiar with!

I really enjoyed that this set was a grouping of flowers that I didn’t have to do a whole bunch of masking to arrange. It was like a ready-made scene that fit perfectly on my card front sized watercolor panel. That meant that I could spend lots of time exploring the new Autumn Festival Watercolor Brush Markers and how I would make these florals come to life.

  1. I really like the natural look of your card. It looks like artwork I would see in a museum IF I WERE ABLE TO GO TO A MUSEUM! Anyway, I’ll calm down 🙂 It is just gorgeous.
