no way is that one layer….

I won’t tell you to stop staring. Yah, go ahead. I do too. Every time. This. Is. A. One. Layer. Card.

One way I got such deep shadows was by combining ink cubes. I used Sea Breeze and Turquoise from Deep Blue Seas, and then for the darkest two layers, I used Nimbus and Dark Night from the Tranquility set. The leaves are done up in Rock Collection, and I omitted the background stamp for most of them.

Ok – if you’re done drooling over this card (don’t worry, I still do every time I look at it!), go get your colored pencils and a graphite pencil. I’m gonna show you how to get that depth and dimension from this one-layer stunner.

I got a graphite pencil after watching a former video of yours and I can’t believe the difference a few minutes adding shadows this way makes. This card is simply amazing. 15. What I love about this is you are combining two of my favorite things — stamping and coloring — in a way I had not thought to combine them. Going to go and look with fresh eyes at all my Build-A-Flowers. I love this and the video was super helpful.

  17. Thank you so much for sharing your video coloring and shading your balloon flower. I was in awe of the way you presented your idea of the balloon Build-A-Flower. Looking at the card I thought it was dimensional until you said it was flat. So that is what shading with stumps and graphite black pencils do. Amazing and love how you shared the video filling in on the flowers and shading the leaves and card. Thank you for sharing your video.
