Can you believe it’s July 22 already?! That means we have a new Paint-a-Flower for you AND we have a bonus release – NEW Watercolor Brush Markers!!! You should be arriving from Tania Ahmed’s blog. I’m the end of the hop, so you’ll be tracking over to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning if you haven’t been there yet!

paeonia japonica

This month’s Paint-a-Flower is a wild bunch of peonies, native to Japan. They are much smaller in size compared to the peonies you might be familiar with!

If you’re already in love with the other Watercolor Brush Markers, then you’ll want these in your stash too! There are even a few NEW colors included – I wonder if they will be a part of some new ink cube sets?!

color & chill

I really enjoyed that this set was a grouping of flowers that I didn’t have to do a whole bunch of masking to arrange. It was like a ready-made scene that fit perfectly on my card front sized watercolor panel. That meant that I could spend lots of time exploring the new Autumn Festival Watercolor Brush Markers and how I would make these florals come to life.

Thank You!

Time is precious and I'm truly grateful that you choose to spend a few minutes of your day with me! If you are in love with my projects and would like to see more, please support my business by following me on Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest.

Now, about that GIVEAWAY…

  1. I really like the natural look of your card. It looks like artwork I would see in a museum IF I WERE ABLE TO GO TO A MUSEUM! Anyway, I’ll calm down 🙂 It is just gorgeous.

  2. I love everything about this! I love how you placed the bouquet so it looks like it is laying down. I love how you colored your flowers and leaves and I love the color of the background. Thank you for sharing!

  3. What a beautiful card with which to end this blog hop! A gorgeous floral design and beautiful watercolor markers in this new release!

  4. Love those white flowers! I envy people who can paint white flowers with shadows! I am not good at that!

  5. Nicely done, the set has endless uses for creative ideas and use with all types of coloring. Love your card and colors as well. This brings me to the end of my happy hopping. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

  6. I really like the orientation of the flowers and how beautifully colored they are. The background looks great with the colors you chose for the flowers. Thanks for sharing your talents.

  7. Gorgeous! Water coloring is still mostly a mystery to me – I try, but don’t have very good luck yet. I love when others do it though. Your background and the shadows you added are the perfect touch.

  8. This is gorgeous and needs to be framed! Beautiful! The colors in this watercolor marker set are so pretty and cannot believe how many shades are possible.

  9. Nicole, the flowers are done so beautifully, but what I love and always love with your work is your background. You do the most beautiful watercoloring of the background I have ever had the privilege to witness. So stunning and it brings the eye to the flowers. I am just in awe.
    Thank you for sharing!

  10. Very pretty! I really like how you kept the flowers white with some shading and colored the centers. And the background water coloring was perfect.

  11. Just so beautiful! With that lovely neutral background it’s all so pleasing to the eye. I am in love with this stamp set, especially that the flowers are already grouped so no masking needed! ♥️

  15. I am so loving this newest PAF, and your watercoloring really shows it off so well! Can’t wait to get this one! Thanks for the inspiration.

  16. Beautiful card! The background (I’m guessing Tree Bark) makes it look like you painted on toned paper. I love it.
