New Dies, Stencils, and Decals

You are going to love this release! It really shows the possibilities of creating amazing projects without stamping! Now, that’s not to say there’s no ink going on…. ’cause, you know, stencils….

Here’s the bundles, and I’ll call out the individual items I used in my projects along the way.

Something retro

There are so many wonderful dies and stencils in this release! The first thing that really grabbed my eye was the Diamond Fine Frames. I am a sucker for the shape and with Mid-Century Modern design gaining popularity again, these are right on-trend! Add in the Bold Greetings dies which fall right into the 1940s and 50s and we have a match made in heaven! To let the diecuts take center stage, I opted for a quick watercolor wash and some large splatter in Nimbus – from the Tranquility ink set.

Something sophisticated

I had another idea with these two that would add in a few more items from the release. How about that Geometric Roulette stencil? And for a feminine touch, the 3D Open Bloom.  I wanted to go super elegant on this one, so it’s white (with a little bit of Limestone blending), Vellum and Gold. Ooh la la!

Something Different

For my third project, I thought I’d take a completely different route and show off a few more lovely products in this release. The Dotted Starburst debossing die is one of those items that adds such a subtle, but beautiful background pattern. I did some ink blending first and then added in the die for the pattern. Then, I paired the largest Nesting Frames Die with the Fancy For You sentiment. Sometimes it’s fun to do a card with no stamping! In fact, NONE of today’s cards have any stamping! Cool!

Those tricky frames

Those fine frames really are fine! Both in looks and thinness. So, just how do you get them adhered and not all wonky-like? I’ve got a golden tip for you that will get you perfect frames every time!

  9. Hi Nicole, Lovely cards. Thank you so much for the tip on adhering those thin frames. I’m sure we all hate oozing glue and it’s super cool that most of us probably already own sponge daubers.

  11. Simply beautiful!!! I especially love your gold and white card. (And that’s saying something, because I’m not a fan of gold.) You used just the right amount of gold, and I think “sophisticated” is a wonderful description of the results. 🙂

  12. I love this new Altenew release, especially the diamond frames so I enjoyed seeing how you used them differently. Your first use was a bit different way to use frames; I wouldn’t thought of doing that.
