How To: Geometric Stained Glass Look with Watercolor


Creating with watercolors doesn’t need to be a time consuming activity. Create a gorgeous, geometric background that mimics stained glass in just a few minutes with only two core supplies – watercolors and washi tape!

  • Watercolors (pencils, liquids or pan sets)
  • Washi Tape (use up allllll of that tape you’ve collected! Pick out the ones that don’t spark joy anymore :D)
  • Watercolor Card (for cards, I don’t go all out with the expensive stuff…)
  • Water & Brushes

steps to create a geometric stained glass look with watercolors

  1. Apply washi tape to watercolor card in a random, or intentional geometric pattern.
  2. Add desired watercolors to the open spaces.
  3. When dry, carefully remove washi tape to reveal borders.
