introducing daffodil

This month’s Paint-a-Flower is a lovely daffodil set. There’s a few sentiments included with not one but two floral arrangements featuring daffodils. Of course, you can purchase this 4×6 stamp set on its own, or sign up for the monthly subscription at a discount!

border layout revisited

A few weeks ago, I did this project for a stamp & die release. It was a real big hit! Everyone commented how they liked that I turned the Blossom Wreath into a border. Well… you can do the same thing with the PAF Daffodil! I took the floral spray image and stamped it sideways in the center, then stamped parts of the same spray on the top and the bottom to make a complete border. I added in the same watercolor blob to help the cut sentiment stand out.

For a real casual look, I started with some messy watercolor over the heat embossed border. Then, I came back with some extra detail to help give some dimension.

The watercolor technique I used to create this card is something I call detailed messy watercolor. It’s an interesting look that will keep you stress-free as you can paint outside the lines!

  3. Thank you so much for the tutorial. The first thing I thought when I saw your card was “How exactly did she do that?” I love the look, but am fairly new to watercolor, especially no-line! Beautiful card. Love how you did the border, as well!

  9. Gorgeous colors on your card. I really like how you emphasized the sentiment with adding the background swirl just underneath the sentiment only, it really made it stand out. I will have to try that idea on one of my cards. Thank you for sharing your ideas and talent with us. I really look forward to these blogs!
