Altenew June 2020 Stand-alone Dies Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

How exciting to have a standalone die release this month from Altenew! You should be arriving from Jennifer McGuire’s blog. If not, you can track back to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning, or continue around until you loop back here.

fine flora

This month’s release is titled, Fine Flora, though, you’ll notice in my projects that I don’t have much flora going on! LOL! I was really drawn to the nesting and geometric cuts as well as the word dies – because, who doesn’t need another word die?!

I wanted to showcase some cards that have NO stamping. Though we are stampers, sometimes it’s fun to just play with paper and dies make that so easy! I hope you enjoy the unified purple color palette I chose for this trio. The addition of Gold Foil cardstock and a base of Spicy Yogurt cardstock really gives them all a rich, warm look.

soda top hello

Nesting dies can create some of the most stunning backgrounds, and the Soda Top Nesting Dies don’t disappoint! For this 5-minute card, I chose to create a gradient nesting pattern in shades of purple, with the bold Waterbrush Hello die in black. The single layer of Gold Foil gives just enough pop that no other embellishment is necessary for this CAS design!

golden hello

I’ve been thinking about making a card just like this one for a while now. The Waterbrush Hello die was the perfect die to make the vision come to life! As with the first card, cutting out the dies is what took longest. Gluing and trimming takes just a matter of minutes!

hanging garden thanks

The Hanging Garden dies are going to be a set I reach for often to add just the perfect floral touch to the background of many designs. I love that I was able to cut up the individual leaves to make a more full arrangement, framing the Apothecary Label die and Bold Thanks sentiment.

three 5-minute cards

Can you believe that each of these cards only takes about 5-minutes to create? I’ll show you how and then you can try some of your own!

  24. Your cards turned out beautifully. I really like the geometric design on your first card, and the card with all the hello’s on it. That one is really unique. The gold foil at such a touch to the card that you used it on. Very pretty.

  25. Fabulous cards! I don’t intentionally use just dies for a card but I have and I will give your technique a try.
