diecut all the florals

vellum in color
I think vellum is just one of the most magical materials! Though, I know that so many can be intimidated by it. I guess that’s probably because the first thing that is hard about it is gluing it down without having the glue show through. Well, there’s an easy way around that – just color the vellum!

coloring vellum
Coloring vellum is actually really easy! Grab your Artist Markers and just lay down a layer of color! Once your pieces are all colored up, use them like you would regular cardstock and diecut away! Now that they’re colored, the glue will not show through, so you can add your adhesive runner or liquid adhesive and glue the layers together without any worries!

just breathe
Yah – take a deep breath and try it! You’ll see that vellum is easier to use than you think! To complete the project, I added in a watercolor wash and spatter background in gray and popped in a sentiment from the mini Breathe stamp set.

This is beautiful and you were spot on about people shying away from vellum because of gluing it down. Thanks for the tip.
What a soft, misty card. I love vellum and the way it looks when colored. It would be fun to try your technique in different colors as well. Your card is very calming in these colors.
