Altenew Cozy Creatures Release

Happy October! I’m back with a new Altenew release full of cool new stamp & die sets that I know you’re going to love! You should be arriving from Nenette’s blog. If not, you can track back to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning, or continue around until you loop back here.

fuzzy, floral & fall

I love that Altenew is mixing it up this month with some new illustration styles! It’s what keeps all of us creatives coming back for more! #amiright? If you saw the heroes sets from earlier in the year, you’ll recognize the style in some of the animal sets. There’s also a bold and chunky line style which gives florals a whole different look, and is perfect for a new coffee themed set.

There’s also a few surprises for you! How about small ink blending brushes! A new, smaller size to work smaller areas and images. AND, labeling stickers for your Artist Markers. They’ll help you find the color you’re looking for more easily!

Of course, there’s bundles, so you have lots of options to pick up some of your favorites at a discount!

coffee & friends

Coffee and friends go hand in hand! This new bold illustration style is paired with fabulous handwritten sentiments that are just perfect for all the friends that need to hear from you! I thought the bold line style really called for bright colors, so all of my projects today feature a freestyle watercolor drip background and bold watercoloring of the images. I turned an oops into a design choice when the red went outside the lines on my hearts. I went with it and just exaggerated the look and made it intentional.

simply beautiful

Another bold illustrated set is the Simple Rose stamp and die set. I really love the chunky lines as they make it super easy to color! The large, bold imagery means that you don’t need a lot to make a statement in your design. A little goes a long way!

your comfort zone

This last set is an absolute stunner – Birch Forest! It is bold in its own way, and it holds so many possibilities. I heat embossed the image on this one, then did some more ink dripping. To add in the foreground trees, it was a simple matter of stamping the image again on some gray cardstock, and fussy-cutting the trees I wanted to accentuate.

  1. Gorgeous cards – I love the graphic, drip backgrounds with the subtle patterns, and love the “oops” on the hearts – they look glowing and growing, and purposefully done that way.

  4. I like what you did with the birch trees. It could have just looked repetitive, but the bright blue and the stream of color gave it life and movement.

  8. Thank you for the video Nicole. I’m sorry I missed the live chat. I really like the loose watercolour backgrounds & even the red bleeding out of the two hearts on the coffee cup looks like it fits right in. Your roses are lovely. Yes, I too like the birch trees card the best though.
