Altenew Winter Essentials Release

It might be the middle of October, but as crafters, we’re already elbow deep into winter holiday projects! Let’s explore some new standalone dies from Altenew that can help you finish up your project list for November and December! You should be arriving from Nenette’s blog. If not, you can track back to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning, or continue around until you loop back here.

winter + essentials

The theme for this release is “winter essentials”, but I think it’s more aptly named winter + essentials as it seems that there’s some winter stuff and some essentials – maybe even some winter essentials too…

Of course, there’s bundles, so you have lots of options to pick up some of your favorites at a discount!

basic florals + sentiment strips + backgrounds

First up is a trio of dies that work really well together! The Lacy Panel Die is a perfect square panel that adds an easy focal point space, while allowing the background to peek through. Here, I used it to ground a few layered flowers from the Simple Nesting Flowers die set and a sentiment from the new Essential Sentiment Strips dies.

I was going for a kind of retro 70s vibe, pulling in golds and muted oranges and rust. You’ll see that vibe through all my designs today. You’ll also notice that the backgrounds all feature stencils from the last stencil release. You should definitely check out all the great stencils from last month!

words + letters

For my second look, I cut up a sentiment from the new Essential Sentiment Strips dies so I could pair it with some letters from the Linear Pathway Alpha and Linear Pathway Outline dies. Since I was feeling retro, and so is the die set, I went for “fab” to complete the throwback look. What do you think? Is it FAB, or what?!

share and inspire someone today!

happy (minus the holidays) birthday

Isn’t a great scripty word die just the best? This “happy” comes from the new Happy Holidays Script Die set, which is more versatile than it first appears as you can use the words separately. The Essential Sentiment Strips dies make another appearance to finish off the look.

I really am fond of your birthday card at the end of your post. The happy script sentiment is lovely and I really also like the soft blues you used with the white embossing for the background. This is a prefect card for a male I feel! Thanks for sharing your wonderful creations with us!
