25 Days of Christmas Tags – Day 3 with Altenew!

Now that it’s November, it’s seriously time for crafters to turn to the holidays! The earlier we get our projects done, the better! Nothing worse than that last minute crunch time, amiright?!

A great way to add a personal crafty touch to your gifts this season is to add a handmade tag! That’s why you need to check out Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags! We’re on day 3, which is sponsored by Altenew! A few fellow Altenew Design Team members and I put together some great ideas for your tag projects. on-trend tag

A few non-traditional looks keep popping up for this holiday season. One that I really like is pink and gold! It has such a classy, yet soft and wintry feel. I had such a fun time putting this one together! Let’s dive into some details!

To create some wintry motion, I used the Feathered Leaves Stencil with Embossing Paste on white cardstock. When it was dry, I trimmed the cardstock to the desired length and width. Then, I used a Soda Top Die to create a beautiful multi-angled top to the tag. Lastly, I used some Frosty Pink Mixed Media Ink to blend in a soft pink area to the tag.

Then, it was on to the gold details. I pulled out some Gold Foil Cardstock and diecut a few snowflakes from the Layered Snowflake die set, and the “Happy” from the new Happy Holidays Script die set. Instead of using the “holidays” diecut, I grabbed the stamp from Mega Greetings 2 and heat embossed that in gold on vellum.

With all of the pieces ready to go, I arranged them on the tag and added in a slew of White Satin Sequins to add to the swirling snow feel. To finish it off, I added some white baker’s twine and a handmade tassel!

  2. This is such a beautiful tag (I think I would love to make one like this and a card as well!) Everything about it is wonderful! Especially the colors and the swirly background.
