Shaker Card Shake-up!

Are you ready for a new Sketch Starter? As you might know, as a Design Team Member for Altenew, I create monthly inspiration projects that feature two distinctly different projects using the same sketch. I encourage you to give the sketch a try and share your results on social media (tag me @nicolewattcreates), or if you’re a class member here on NWC, upload a project to the comments below!

just a peek of a shaker

For my two projects, I wanted to share some different ways to create shaker cards. This first one utilizes the negative diecut space to create the shaker. Then, I left off the bottom layer of the diecut rose so there would be little peek-a-boo areas where you can see the sequins inside!

no-foam shaker with tulle

I think this is one of my most favorite shaker cards ever! Not only did I use tulle for the cover instead of acetate, but I also didn’t use any foam strips! The flexibility of the tulle sandwiched in between two of the diecuts allows the sequins to move freely! It enables a lower profile which, in turn, makes the design more mail friendly!
