Are you ready for a new Sketch Starter? As you might know, as a Design Team Member for Altenew, I create monthly inspiration projects that feature two distinctly different projects using the same sketch. I encourage you to give the sketch a try and share your results on social media (tag me @nicolewattcreates).

dahlia & diamond
This pairing is just yummy! As a bonus, it’s really simple! The dahlias stencil on so clean and quick, and it doesn’t take much to stamp and watercolor the beautiful gem from Geometric Elements. Though the sketch calls for a patterned background, it doesn’t have to be a small pattern. Think bold – especially because it’s getting paired with a rather small focal element.

flip the focus
For the second take, I flipped the focus so the geometric was in the background, and the small element became the floral. I did a quick ink-smooshing technique with the On Point stencil and pulled out the recent Mini Delight; Petite Posy for the small focal point element.
