Been a while
It has been a day since I made a spinner card. I think it’s that kind of interactive design that is just timeless. And, maybe the reason that someone might get hooked on papercrafting. The beauty of a spinner card is that it doesn’t have to be super involved. Make the spinner element the star (pun totally intended), and the background and sentiment becomes a supporting character.

Nested dies FTW!
Nested dies make spinner designs as easy as can be. Of course, Scrapbook.com carries a whole line of nested dies. These stars couldn’t have worked out better. Actually, the more I look at it, the more I feel like I should be advertising for a department store (you know the one…). I seriously just saw that, and now I can’t unsee it. This card shall forever be known as the Macy’s Card.

What a fun and sparkly card!! Every year I let my 3 kids pick a new ornament for the tree. Something that they think is neat.
Love your spinner card and all the gold. I do believe I could make one of these now. TFS!!! Your instructions are easy to follow. My favorite Christmas traditions is the family gathering for Christmas Eve.
Love this card. I’ve never made a spinner card but I’m going to try it now. My favorite tradition is our family game night on Christmas Eve. The elves deliver new pajamas, we eat appetizers and pizza and play all sorts of games. Thank you!
What a neat card idea! Looks super simple … and you could use just about anything in the middle, hearts, balloons, pumpkins, etc. Christmas is filled with so many memories. My favorite memory is being with my Grama and seeing what color her tree was each year … either traditional (multi color w/ silver icicles), or a Chrismon tree with white/gold ornaments (all of which were hand-made). This will be our 2nd Christmas without her. I would give anything to see her tree again (she was 102 the last time she put her tree up … She would have been 104 on Dec. 3rd.) I miss her and all her traditions!
I love the spinner card. A favorite holiday tradition is making cut outs with the grand kids. We have so much fun decorating.
This is the first spinner card I’ve seen made. Fun and relatively easy. Treasure holidaymoment: when your colleagues insist on getting their ówn handmade Christmas card because the liked the one from last year so much they don’t wanna share with the whole office.
I really like your spinner card!
What a unique way to use a star die cut–thanks for the idea!

A cherished memory is making Scandinavian Almond Bars nearly every year since about 1987. A friend made them and shared the recipe. It’s been a family favorite ever since and one of my go-to holiday baking recipes!
I just learned something new! I had seen shaker-card vids before, but believe it or not, never a spinner card. Thx for the tutorial & the “bonus” tips. The cards turned out great!
My all-time favorite handmade gift is a sweatshirt my college-roommate’s mom made for me. It was counted cross-stitch w/“I Love Music” across the top, then a penguin playing the xylophone. I had never owned anything w/my instrument on it before, so I was thrilled!! I still have it – can’t part w/it!! ?
The spinner card was fun. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the great instruction. Love the card
And a favorite tradition is putting together a puzzle
I love a good spinner and this is one! Very clever! Thanks for all you hard work in putting this together. It was fun hopping with you!

Great card. Tamales are a family tradition, but then that is why we also have a CHUBBY tradition. ha-ha
Fantastic card!!! We put our tree up each year the day after thanksgiving…we typically go out and cut our tree. This year there weren’t many good ones to pick from…so we went with a precut tree…still fun to explore the lot and a lot less grumbling about hauling a tree for acres to the truck!!!
Hi Nicole 🙂 This is adding a new technique to my repertoire of card making….love it!!! One of our favorite holiday traditions is hot chocolate and star gazing! Thanks for inspiring me 🙂
I love spinner cards, so this is perfect with the pretty star! I love the colors you chose also. Excellent work as always.
