It’s a Build-a-Flower blog hop with Altenew!
I’m so excited to be a Guest Designer for my FIRST Build-a-Flower release! You should be arriving from Virginia Lu’s blog. If not, you can track back to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning, or continue around until you loop back here.

Meet Begonia!
As with every Build-a-Flower stamp set, the Begonia set is a 6×8 stamp set with a beautiful layered bloom and leaves along with some lovely sentiments. It also comes with coordinating dies! If you like, you can also get it bundled with coordinating inks.
Subscribe and Guarantee your set each month! There is a monthly subscription plan for the Build-a-Flower sets. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in the monthly releases and will receive a set and the corresponding dies each month – at a specially discounted price! ($29.99 instead of $35.00). This is a great way to build your floral collection in a planned way, and to make sure that you don’t miss out on these lovely stamp sets as they often sell out!

Let’s start simple
I love that the Build-a-Flower sets come with all the different layers, allowing you to pick and choose how detailed you will get with a project. The outline piece can be used on its own in a multitude of ways. It can be the starting point for some freehand coloring or watercoloring, or it can be used very simply on its own – like this!
Be sure to stop back on Monday to see how quickly this card comes together! But, for today, I want to dive into the layering aspect of the stamp set.

Begonias aren’t blue
But I sure can make them that way if I want! LOL!
I’m not sure why, but I went right for the Tranquility ink set. Perhaps it was a moody day outside and some beautiful, subdued florals came to mind. Well, regardless, they’re beautiful! The layering on these is not as complex as other BAF sets. That makes it a great set for beginners or crafters new to builder sets!

A closer look
Can you believe that those three flowers were made with just ONE ink set? For today’s video, I wanted to show you how you can mix and match inks and stamp layers to come up with three different depths of color when working with any BAF set. Mixing your blooms in this way will help create even more depth in your layered projects.
Thank You!
Time is precious and I’m truly grateful that you chose to spend a few minutes of your day here!

I love the monotone with this BAF: Begonia! It’s so peaceful and serene!!! And after working at a green house I can assure you there are no blue begonias but isn’t that what makes crafting fun we can choose to make them blue. Who knows maybe it will inspire a horticulturist and we’ll find a blue one in the green house one day!
