How To: Heat Emboss with Water


Heat embossing – it’s so basic. If you don’t know how to do it and want to uncover the mystery, check out this post. BUT, if you want to step it up and turn your embossing into more of an accent versus the lead role, then you really want to try this variation where we use water to hold the powder in place.

steps to heat emboss with water

  1. Add anti-static powder to cardstock if desired. This will just help control any stray powder.
  2. Sprinkle panel with water using a spray bottle or brush and water.
  3. Apply embossing powder and tap off excess.
  4. Heat until water evaporates and embossing powder melts.
