steps to gel press prints with layering stencils
- Take note of how your layering stencil interacts. Try to lay down lighter colors first, then add darker colors in later layers.
- Apply most restrictive (has the least/smallest openings) stencil to the press, then apply selected paint. Remove stencil and allow layer to dry on press.
- Repeat process with subsequent stencils working from most restrictive (least/smallest openings) to least restrictive (has the most/largest openings), drying completely between each layer.
- Once all stencil layers are applied, finish gel press as desired
- Add a final layer of paint to the entire press. While wet, apply paper and pull up the entire print.
