Now that you have actually used your gel press, you probably want to know the best way to clean it! Good news, like most other crafty things, it’s pretty simple!

supplies for cleaning a gel press
You might already have these supplies around the house! Yea for convenience! Of course, if you need to do some shopping, I have the items linked here and down below. Be sure to check out my Crafty Sales page for any deals you can take advantage of at your favorite crafting haunts.
- Dirty Gel Press (LOL!)
- Paper Towels (optional)
- Microfiber cloth, or other lint-free towel
- Hand Sanitizer
- Mineral Oil or Gel Press Conditioner
- Copy paper cut to the size of your gel plate
- Storage clamshell (came with your plate) or metal tin

steps to clean a gel press
- Remove any wet paint or material from your gel press using a scrap piece of paper.
- Squirt hand sanitizer, mineral oil or press conditioner on the press and work the stuck-on paint with your fingers, being careful not to poke, rip or tear the press.
- Wipe off the paint/sanitizer/oil with a paper towel or microfiber cloth.
- Condition press with mineral oil or press conditioner, wiping the excess and any leftover paint with a damp microfiber cloth.
- Cover the top and bottom of the press with a piece of copy paper cut to size.
- Store the press in the clamshell it came in or a metal tin.
