I’m so happy to be participating in this month’s Craft-a-Flower release. For all the Brits out there, it’s just in time for Remembrance Day to celebrate and remember Veterans, just like we do in the US, on November 11th. You should be arriving from LauraJane’s blog. If not, you can track back to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning, or continue around until you loop back here.

hello, poppy (my favorite!)
The more I see this flower, the more I love it. I can’t wait until spring to plant some in the yard! But, in the meantime, these paper ones will have to do!

intense watercolor
Though you can get the die set bundled with the Red Cosmos Gradient Cardstock, I decided to create a watercolor panel using Tropical Fiesta Watercolor Brush Markers, and then diecut the shapes from the variegated panels I created.

plus detail
I couldn’t leave the florals just watercolored. I needed to add some more detail to really make them pop. So, I grabbed my new Altenew Fine Liner Pens and used a series of flicks and tiny dots to create shading in between each layer. A simple background helped the flowers shine all on their own, along with a totally appropriate sentiment for Veteran’s Day.
Thank You!
Time is precious and I’m truly grateful that you chose to spend a few minutes of your day here!

Stunning card!
Love the water color use and layout used. Very talented work and creativity to give the flower the black shading.
Wonderful! The shading really adds that extra something. Thank you for the inspiration.
This is one of my favorite cards. Love it.
Beautiful card!. So artistic with the shading, more art than craft. Thank you!
Absolutely gorgeous poppies!!
Wow! The pen marks made a lovely card even more incredible.
Love your card. The detail you created with the fine liner pens–just love it. I happen to be a fan of stippling so your card is one of my favorites on the hop. You also matched the poppy color used in Remembrance Day poppies. I remember having poppies when I was young in the U.S. I wish they would bring back that tradition.
Oh My!!! Your card is so beautiful. I love all the detail on the Poppies!
I like the rich colors. How pretty, just like real Poppies.
Beautiful card. The pen really adds a nice touch. Thanks for sharing
Once again you amaze! I love the water coloured flowers – in fact I’m receiving a pan set for my birthday and my husband is going to teach me how to watercolour. I will use your cards as examples of what to aspire towards.
