Altenew Exotic Garden Release

Summer is soooooo close! Are your flowers starting to bloom? They’re definitely blooming for this month’s Altenew release! You should be arriving from Amanda’s blog. If not, you can track back to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning, or continue around until you loop back here.

exotic garden

This month’s release is full of beautiful and exotic florals! There are a few supporting images, like butterflies (popular again this year across many stamp companies) and paisley. There are some new 3D Embossing Folders (Yea!), slim washi and new swatch decals.

underwater enchanted

The Enchanting Beauty stamp & die set was just screaming “under the sea” to me! I had to do some ink blending on Lagoon cardstock to give that look of going deeper into the water while embossing the images on Lagoon in Copper embossing powder. I added in a few washi strips from the Sea Shore Slim washi tape set and finished off the watery slimline with some clear water drops.

frilly tulip

Tulips come in so many different shapes and colors! This is the Blooming Tulips stamp & die set and it features a gorgeous frilly tulip that I chose to show off in yellows (Fall Harvest color collection).

blushing bouquet

The Simply Spring stamp & die set is a ready-made bouquet. No masking required! I embossed the image in white on some pink cardstock and then lightly blushed some Razzleberry and Pinkalicious ink in the flower centers to help them pop!

wabi sabi ginko

The Japanese ideal of Wabi Sabi is so beautiful and inspiring. The art of kintsugi is often associated with it and means finding pleasure in aged and worn objects, and to value their blemishes as beautiful. I wanted to recreate it here with the Sweet Ginko and Carpe Diem stamp sets. Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel as I’ll be sharing a video on this project for the Altenew Video Hop later this month!

  6. Gorgeous cards. I especially like the Wabi Sabi card with the gold vein running through. And the info behind it… certainly inspiring to find beauty in what might otherwise be considered less than ideal. TFS
