retro & eclectic vibes
Sometimes you gotta mix it up a little! This month’s release has some fun doodle patterns, retro imagery, and of course, beautiful florals! If you’re looking for fun, fresh imagery to add to your stash, definitely check out my projects below!
dripping galaxy birthday
For all of today’s projects, I’m experimenting with my new set of Windsor & Newton Gouache watercolors. These are opaque colors that, as you will see, look amazing on black cardstock or watercolor paper! Yes, you can use it on white (or any other color) paper too.
For this first design, I created a cool rainbow-galaxy-ish ink dripping look over the new Illusion Triangles 3D embossing folder. I diecut the Just A Number dies from the same panel – both the sentiment and the shadow layers, and then just placed the sentiment layer inlaid into the shadow space. A few enamel dots from the Pocketful of Sunshine set finished off the look.

friends in my galaxy
For this second look, I started by creating a circle element in the background with a lighter, blended wash of gouache. It looks like a planet! Then, I decided that I wanted to add the Thank You For Being My Friend die set. That’s seriously all the card needed – except for a few enamel dots from Shades of Purple. This big sentiment die make the whole project come together super fast!

missing you doodles
Believe it or not, this is the project that took the most time! I started by embossing black watercolor cardstock with the Cool Doodles 3D embossing folder. Then, I used a small brush and various shades of gouache to paint the doodles. Looks perfect, right? Black gouache makes a great “black-out” for mistakes! 😉
To play off the bright colors, I got creative with the I Really Miss You mini stamp & die to get a perfect coordinating look!
