Making LOTS of cards this holiday season?
My eyes always bug out a bit when someone tells me that they need to make over 100 cards for the holidays! ARE. YOU. KIDDING? Of course, this declaration always comes around November when there’s no way they’ll finish and get them mailed. Today’s project is perfect if you have piles and piles of cards to make. You can stave off the boredom by changing up colors, and you can easily break up the work into manageable chunks. That way, you can tackle the project over a series of days, weeks, or even over a few months. And, you’ll still have all your cards done by Novemer.

My Project
This trio of cards was really fun to make. I actually had to stop myself because I wanted to explore making them in even more colors! (I might still do that…). I started off with the blue one as I was thinking about the few cards that I send out to people who don’t celebrate Christmas. I still like to send them a card during the season because I want them to know that I’m thinking about them!

The Technique & Design
I love that this card is easy and that it can be done up in any color combo. They may look really involved, but it’s just a bit of ink blending, stamping and then adding the gold ink accents. You’ll seriously be done with a pile of these before you know it!
I also love that this is one of those designs that can be batched. Work on one part during each sitting and you’ll have a pile of pieces ready for assembly in no time! Do all your ink blending one day, then stamping another, adding the gold on a third day. Then, cut your cardstock mats and finally, on day 5 (or 10 or whatever), assemble!

OMG I am in love with these cards! I have some people who are Jewish and other religions and usually end up with a winter holiday card for them. So, this would be perfect! I can never just make a zillion of one design but to have several kinds so this will be a fun version to add to my cardmaking. The snowflake stencil can still be used in January and February for winter birthday cards too. Hey, even March done in green with a shamrock with the snowflake for St. Patrick’s Day! Anyway, since I am going on and on, you know I love these cards! I can already see me making it in purple since I have two people who request purple Christmas cards. A darker blue with silver? I don’t know but I need to get that blending brush too as it looks like a lot of fun to play with. I wonder if I have any stamps that have the dotted letters so I can copy your idea with those – looks so cool! Oh, I just thought of a gray for the ink and a black mat too. I even have some of those distress ink cubes I have never used. I was going to make some fall leaf thing with them and of course didn’t. With such excitement over this video and card, I can hardly wait to watch the other holiday theme beauties – well I see vintage ornament cards which I know I am going to love too. Thank goodness you didn’t have any Christmas carols on the video as I would be humming away today! Oh, I use both the hotmail and Gmail addresses since both work now.
These are perfect for anyone! I don’t do a lot of the religious themed cards anyway, so these are a great addition to my repertoire!
Pretty card design. I like the subtle snowflakes in the ink blended background and the addition of the gold dots.
Awesome idea. Here I thought the blue was my favorite and then you pull out the purple one. OMG!
Pretty cards. You make the blending look so easy. Guess I will have to try it
Sucj cjarming cards with a great sentiment. Like using the non-traditional colors for Christmas cards. The blending looks so delicate and of course you always make it look effortless. As always you are amazing.
Love the big sentiment! It really makes a statement!
